Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Sunday celebrated the Buffalo Bills making the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.

“First time in 17 years, the @buffalobills are headed to the playoffs! Let’s go BUFFALO!” Schumer tweeted.

“The last time the @buffalobills were in the playoffs, I was a freshman senator at the end of my first year in office. I may have lost some hair, but the fans in WNY have never lost faith.

Schumer also shared a tweet from the team celebrating the accomplishment.

The Bills on Sunday ended their 17-year playoff drought. The team hadn’t made the playoffs since the 1999 season.

Buffalo made the playoffs after it won on Sunday and Baltimore was defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bills will play next weekend in Jacksonville in a wild-card game.
