Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) was discharged from the hospital Thursday after receiving treatment for an infection and expects to be back in the Senate soon.

“Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has been discharged from the hospital and expects to be back to work next week,” his office said in a statement.

Grassley was admitted to a D.C. hospital where he received antibiotic infusions to treat an infection, and he was in good spirits, his office announced Tuesday.

“Thx for ur well wishes & prayers Happy to be home I look fwd to getting back to work,” Grassley posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Grassley is 90 years old, the oldest and longest-tenured senator, The Hill previously reported.

He earned the distinction as the chamber’s oldest member after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) died in September.
