Barring delays, Senate set for Tuesday votes
The Senate is still scheduled to start votes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, but staffers say the schedule could change if lawmakers can’t make it into Washington.
{mosads}The nation’s capital is expected to receive an additional six to 16 inches of snowfall on Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Both Washington Reagan and Dulles International airports are predicting flight delays.
The Senate is scheduled to convene at 2 p.m. to resume consideration of Joseph Greenway Jr. for the U.S. circuit judge for the 3rd Circuit, as well as Craig Becker for membership to the National Labor Relations Board.
At 5 p.m., the Senate is expected to vote on the confirmation of Greenway, followed by a vote to invoke cloture on the Becker nomination.
The House canceled its votes scheduled for Tuesday.
The federal government closed all its offices Tuesday for the second day in a row. The D.C. Metro warned passengers it may close early Tuesday afternoon, depending on the weather.
