Missouri governor files restraining order against state AG’s investigation

On Tuesday, Hawley announced his office had obtained evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Greitens which showed he had improperly obtained and used a donor list from a charity he ran before seeking office — The Mission Continues — to help fundraise for his campaign.

Hawley reportedly issued subpoenas to individuals involved with the charity last month.

Greitens is currently resisting calls on multiple fronts to step down from office, after a special report by the Missouri House of Representatives deemed allegations of sexual misconduct by the governor highly credible.

Hawley, who is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) this November, has thus far refused requests by Greitens’s lawyers to step away from the charity investigation.
