Maryland reported 1,158 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the state’s total during the pandemic to 5,529.
The state health department also reported 21 additional deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities from the coronavirus to 124. The state also reported an increase of 104 hospitalizations, bringing that total to 1,210.
Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, which border Washington D.C., have the most COVID-19 cases, with 1,310 and 1,088, respectively.
Maryland, like the majority of states across the country, is under a stay-at-home order in an attempt to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
Across the U.S., there’s nearly 400,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 12,911 deaths, based on data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
