Brooklyn man arrested for stealing nine coronavirus stimulus checks

A man in Brooklyn was arrested after he allegedly stole nine coronavirus stimulus checks from mailboxes.

Feng Chen, 31, faces federal charges of possession of stolen property and criminal trespass after prosecutors accused him of rummaging through mail at four different buildings in Sunset Park on April 24, New York local affiliate ABC 7 reported.

He was also reportedly found holding credit cards, mail and checks with different names attached to them, according to the report.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has warned about the potential mail theft of stimulus checks. Concerns are also rising that scammers are targeting stimulus recipients.
