USS Constitution, museum reopening in Boston
The USS Constitution and the ship’s associated museum in Boston will reopen to the public starting Friday after shutting down for months due to the coronavirus pandemic, the museum announced Wednesday.
Visitors will be able to access indoor and outdoor attractions and activities in Charleston Navy Yard, including exploring the USS Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat, and the World War II destroyer USS Cassin Young. The USS Constitution Museum exhibits will also be open.
Visitors and staff will be required to wear face coverings while onboard the USS Constitution and while inside the museum. Face coverings are “highly recommended” while onboard the USS Cassin Young and while in the Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center, according to the museum.
The attractions will operate at reduced capacity and visitors to the museum will require timed tickets that can be booked online.
The attractions had been shut since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
