A group known as “Bikers for Trump” came to Milwaukee on Wednesday to show support for President Trump as the city hosted the Democratic National Convention.
The group began their ride from West Bend on Wednesday and rode into downtown Milwaukee, making noise and holding pro-Trump flags and signs outside the convention’s security perimeter, a local NBC affiliate WTMJ reported.
Roughly 100 to 150 people arrived at the site around 4 p.m., with most staying for a half hour.
Some sang the national anthem while others recited the pledge of allegiance during the protest.
“We’re not concerned about their convention. We wanted to show our presence and support for our president, Donald Trump. They come into Milwaukee, which is fine,” one biker said. “That’s their prerogative. They’re having their convention, it’s not a big deal … but we want to show support for our president.”
Most of the bikers were from Wisconsin. However, one member of the group rode from Tennessee to join the protest.
The convention, which began Monday, will conclude its fourth and final day Thursday evening, where former Vice President Joe Biden is slated to deliver his acceptance speech following the Democratic party’s nomination.
