Pennsylvania lifting COVID-19 restrictions, but not mask mandate, on Memorial Day
Pennsylvania will be lifting all of its COVID-19 restrictions, other than its mask mandate, on Memorial Day.
“Effective May 31, we are lifting COVID mitigation orders,” Gov. Tom Wolf (D) tweeted Tuesday. “The masking order will be lifted when 70% of Pennsylvania adults are fully vaccinated.”
The move will end all size limits on gatherings, restaurants and other businesses.

Pennsylvania has also recently updated its mask mandate to say vaccinated people do not have to wear a mask outside.
“We continue to make significant progress in the fight to stop the spread of COVID-19 and as more Pennsylvania adults get vaccinated and guidance from the CDC evolves, we can continue to move forward with our reopening efforts,” acting Health Secretary for Pennsylvania Alison Beam said, according to The Associated Press.
States across the country have begun loosening their coronavirus restrictions and mask mandates as millions are vaccinated.
The White House said Tuesday that President Biden intends to set a goal of getting at least one vaccine shot to 70 percent of Americans by July 4.
