Shooting leaves 3 people wounded at Idaho middle school

Idaho police have captured the suspect in a middle school shooting that left 3 people wounded on Thursday, according to a report by The Associated Press.

Jefferson County police said that two students along with the school’s custodian were shot at Rigby Middle School. 

Students were evacuated to a high school nearby as multiple law enforcement agencies headed to the scene. 

“Today we had the worst nightmare a school district could encounter. We had a school shooting here at Rigby Middle School,” Jefferson School District Superintendent Chad Martin said, according to the AP story. “What we know so far is the shooter has been apprehended. There is no further threat to the students.”

Jefferson County Sheriff Steve Anderson said the three victims didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries, according to the AP report. 

The suspect, who is a male student, was taken into custody by police.
