GOP schedules ‘Let’s go Brandon’ rally in Brandon, Vt.

Vermont’s Republican Party has scheduled a “Let’s go Brandon” rally — to be held in the city of Brandon, Vt.

The chant has become popular among Republicans as an alternative to a profane charge directed at President Biden, and Vermont’s GOP is seeking to take advantage with the rally scheduled for Brandon’s Central Park on Nov. 13.

The party plans to offer hats, T-shirts and bumper stickers to those in attendance to raise money for the state party. It also said portions of the proceeds of sales made from the rally would go to the Brandon area’s Emergency Food Shelf.

The effort comes as Biden’s approval ratings have sunk and after the GOP scored some victories in last week’s off-year elections, including Virginia’s governor’s race. That has bolstered GOP hopes for next year’s midterms.

“Most presidents try to act swiftly in the first 100 days, and President Biden has next to zero accomplishments as we approach the last 60 days of his first year,” the Vermont state GOP said in a statement announcing the rally.

Former President Trump’s campaign started offering “Let’s go Brandon” shirts last month in exchange for a donation of $45 or more.

The “Let’s go, Brandon” rally chant originated as an insult toward Biden during a NASCAR race last month when a crowd chanted “F— Joe Biden” while winner Brandon Brown was being interviewed by NBC Sports.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps condemned the rallying cry on Friday, saying the sport does not want to be associated with politics.
