Sunday show preview: Spending and war
The looming budget showdown will dominate the chatter on
this weekend’s public affairs shows.
Top Senate Democrats are lined up to make their cases:
- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on “Face the Nation”
- Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin on “Meet the Press”
- Democratic Policy Committee Chair Charles Schumer on “This
Week” - Sen. Mark Warner on “State of the Union”
Republicans from the House and Senate will give their
arguments, as well:
- Sen. Jeff Sessions on “This Week”
- Sen. Lindsey Graham on “Face the Nation”
- Sen. John Cornyn on “State of the Union”
- Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Paul Ryan, the chairman of the
Budget Committee chair, on “Fox News Sunday”
But the spending fight isn’t the only topic in Washington
these days. Retired Gen. James Jones, the president’s former National Security
Advisor, will stop by “This Week” and “State of the Union” to talk about the
conflict in Libya and U.S. operations around the world. Rep. Mike Rogers
(R-Mich.), the Intelligence Committee chair, will be on “Meet the Press.”
