Sunday show preview: Everybody makes their case for a debt solution
Get ready to hear a lot of talk about the debt-ceiling debate on Sunday.
With little more than two weeks to go before Treasury’s Aug. 2 deadline for raising the government’s credit limit, the White House and Republicans and Democrats in Congress will be staking out their positions for the final push.
{mosads}Jacob Lew, the White House’s budget director, gets top billing on three shows this weekend: ABC’s “This Week,” CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
He’ll be countered on ABC by Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), and on CNN, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will represent the opposition.
NBC follows up with Sens. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).
CBS’ “Face the Nation” will feature three senators from across the political spectrum: Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.).
“Fox News Sunday” will have Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.).
For your weekly dose of 2012 presidential politics, GOP candidate Herman Cain will be on Fox and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has been flirting with another run, will be on CNN.
