President Obama’s chief of staff, Denis McDonough, said Sunday he is proud that the outgoing administration has remained “historically free of scandal.”
“I will say that the thing I’m most proud of, Jake, is an administration now acknowledging that we will have 6 days left or 5 days left, that has been historically free of scandal,” McDonough told Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
McDonough focused on how Obama, the first lady, the vice president and the second lady think the government should be run. McDonough also noted the way in which the current administration “set up” the White House.
{mosads}“It’s also because we set up a White House that said the institutions have to work,” he said.
“Congress is going to investigate us. They did. We participated in and cooperated with those investigations.”
