‘Future of America’ at stake with hacking, Feinstein says
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Sunday that the future of American democracy is at stake, referencing Russia’s hacking of Democratic political organizations.
“I’m certainly not going to leave this in limbo, because this is the future of America. It’s the future of democracy,” Feinstein told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Earlier this month, the U.S. intelligence agencies released a report that concluded Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign to help Donald Trump win the White House. The report notes that it did not analyze the impact of Russia’s actions.
{mosads}Feinstein, the vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said she believes Russia’s actions did have an impact on the election.
“If we can’t carry out an election without disinformation being pumped into it by another country, we’ve got a huge destruction of our system going on. So we have to be full and robust in the look and I trust that we are,” she said.
