Feinstein: Trump splitting the nation apart

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that President Trump is dividing the nation with his early flurry of executive actions.

“We listened for months while Republicans said that [then-President] Obama was issuing too many executive orders and exceeding his authority on executive orders,” the California Democrat said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander,” she added. “And I think there is great concern.”

{mosads}Feinstein said there has been a “blizzard of executive orders and memoranda” in the first weeks of the Trump administration, some of which she said are “most probably unlawful.”

“You’ve got people in the streets here,” she said. “This president has not brought this nation together. He says he’s working for his base. Well, there are a majority of people who are outside of that base.

“My best advice has been, and I was able to say this to him directly, ‘Please Mr. President, you have to bring this country together.’ What he’s doing is splitting it apart.”
