Scaramucci wants ‘positive mojo’ with media

Incoming White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said on Sunday he would like to reset White House relations with the media, creating “positive mojo” between the White House and the press.

“It’s a fresh start for everybody. I certainly want to engage the mainstream media. I expect that they’re going to want to hold me and the White House accountable, but we’re going to want to sort of hold them accountable, too,” Scaramucci told Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”

{mosads}“I’m hoping to create an era of a new good feeling with the media. Give everybody a fresh start. Let’s see if we can reset this and create a more positive mojo among everybody,” he added.

The new communications director said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that he thinks the White House needs to deliver its messaging differently.

“I just think we need to deliver the messaging a little bit differently than we’ve been doing it in the past,” Scaramucci said.

But Scaramucci did have criticisms for the news media, saying there are people in the news media who “stretch or fabricate things.” In June, CNN retracted a story about Scaramucci, prompting three of the channel’s reporters involved in the article to resign.

Scaramucci’s comments come amid a communications staff shake up at the White House.

President Trump appointed Scaramucci on Friday, leading press secretary Sean Spicer to resign.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders will replace Spicer as press secretary.
