Graham: Trump will lose reelection if GOP is not successful
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday he thinks President Trump will lose reelection if Republicans do not follow through on promises to repeal and replace ObamaCare and cut taxes.
“Mitch McConnell is not our problem,” Graham told CBS’s “Face the Nation” when asked about former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon’s criticism of the Senate majority leader.
{mosads}“Our problem is that we promised to repeal and replace ObamaCare and we failed,” he added.
“We promised to cut taxes and we’ve yet to do it. If we’re successful, Mitch McConnell’s fine. If we’re not, we’re all in trouble. We lose our majority and I think President Trump will not get reelected.”
Graham’s comments come after Trump last week signed an executive order on health care after congressional Republicans repeatedly failed to repeal ObamaCare.
The president last month unveiled a tax framework that would cut the number of individual tax rates and trim business taxes.
