Conway hits CNN’s Stelter: Stop being so jealous of Fox News

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday blasted CNN anchor Brian Stelter for being “jealous” of Fox News after he asserted that the news outlet operates like “state-run media.”

“Stop being jealous of Fox News, Brian, and their ratings. I think that would help if you drop the jealousy a little bit about Fox News,” Conway told Stelter on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”

{mosads}Conway and Stelter got into a heated exchange after the news anchor pressed her about President Trump’s “credibility crises,” citing polls and low approval ratings.

In response, the top Trump aide took aim at CNN, accusing the network of spinning stories and unfairly attacking the president.

“CNN used to be a place where people can tune in and get the news all day long. Now they get spin and people’s opinions. I think CNN should own it. Why not say, ‘Look, it’s in our commercial interest at CNN to be anti-Trump. We’re profitable if we’re against the president, most of our viewers are against the president.’ Just own it,” she continued.

Conway also suggested that the 24-hour news channel is not as useful and necessary to the public because President Trump’s tweets are able to directly reach the American people.

“The country doesn’t need you to spin and filter what the president just said anymore. They read his tweets when you read his tweets. It is a democratization of information,” Conway said.

Trump has repeatedly called CNN and other news outlets “fake news” after they publish reports about the administration that he finds unfair or unfavorable.
