Scaramucci: Trump frustrated, but not worried about Russia probe

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Sunday that while he thinks President Trump is frustrated by special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling, he doesn’t think Trump is worried about where the probe is heading.

“As it relates to my time with the president, my interaction with him and his staff, I’m certainly not worried about it,” Scaramucci told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

{mosads}“I know he’s not worried about it,” he added, referring to Trump.

“He said, I think, to The New York Times a couple of days ago that he expects the investigation of Mueller to treat him very fairly and my guess is that will be the case.” 

Scaramucci, who briefly served in the White House before an abrupt exit, said the president is “frustrated” by partisan attacks stemming from the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling and any potential ties between Trump campaign staff and Moscow.

“I think he’s frustrated about it,” Scaramucci said.

“I think he doesn’t like the scandals incorporated that goes on in Washington, where we find the scandal du jour to try to distract our political opponents from the their agendas by picking on them personally.”
