Hispanic PAC breaks fundraising record
The political fundraising arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus announced Thursday it raised $2 million, surpassing its pre-set goals for 2016
CHC BOLD PAC, led by Rep. Tony Cárdenas (D-Calif.), set its new fundraising goal at $3 million.
{mosads}”This unprecedented level of support is a real game changer for our organization,” said Cárdenas. “Achieving this major milestone proves that Latinos are more engaged than ever before.”
In a press release, BOLD PAC said it is currently the fastest-growing Democratic political action committee, with over 12,000 contributors.
It raised $945,075 for the 2014 electoral cycle, meaning the group has more than doubled its income.
The Hispanic vote is expected to be crucial in the 2016 presidential election. Many swing states, such as Florida, Colorado and Nevada, have growing Hispanic populations.
Democrats are expected to have an advantage with the voting bloc, given presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s perceived anti-immigrant rhetoric.
