Art installation shows baby peering over US border wall

A French guerrilla artist unveiled Thursday a massive installation at the U.S.-Mexico border that depicts a child peering over the border fence.

The Parisian artist known by the pseudonym “JR” — and sometimes called the “French Banksy” — tweeted a video and an image of his work in progress, a roughly 30-foot-tall photo mounted on scaffolding on the Mexican side of the fence, as first reported by Mashable.

The installation was unveiled two days after President Trump’s announcement that he is halting the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protected undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children from deportation.

JR’s career started in the Paris suburbs, where he became known for pasting super-sized portraits of his friends and neighbors on local walls. He rose to fame after his portraits from the 2015 Paris riots gained international attention.
