Signs posted in Nebraska city urge citizens to report ‘all illegal aliens’ to ICE
Flyers urging residents to report “any and all illegal aliens” to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were posted on street poles this week in Omaha, Neb.
According to an image shared on social media, the sign claims it is a citizen’s “civic duty” to report any immigrant in the country illegally to the agency.
“It is your civic duty to report any and all illegal aliens to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they have broken the law,” the sign read.

A CBS affiliate reported on Wednesday that some Omaha residents have begun to take down the signs, calling them offensive.
“That’s stereotyping. Let’s say me for instance — I’m not illegal but others will say I must be illegal, let’s report it,” Dalila Rios told KMTV.

It is unknown who posted the signs.
Immigration Attorney Tom Campbell told CBS that the sign is encouraging illegal behavior, saying “the only way you can find out if a person has proper documentation to be here is to impersonate a federal official, which is illegal.”
The report comes as President Trump faces backlash over his immigration policies, in particular the separation of children from families caught crossing the southern border illegally.
Trump signed an executive order ending the practice but the administration failed to reunite all of the separated children under 5 with their families by a court ordered deadline.
Democrats have also seized on the controversy with a number calling for abolishing ICE.
