Lobbying World: Motion Picture Association casts new federal affairs lead 

Josh Rogin is joining the Motion Picture Association as senior vice president for federal government affairs. His first day is Jan. 4. Rogin is currently the vice president of federal affairs for the Computer and Communications Industry Association and he spent more than 20 years working for several House Democrats, including nearly 13 years as chief of staff to former Rep. Tom Deutch (D-Fla.).

Ken Wingert joined Monument Advocacy as a principal leading the firm’s financial services and real estate work. He was most recently head of government relations at Zillow and was a lobbyist for the National Association of Realtors for more than 13 years.

The American Council of Life Insurers adds Andrew Remo as vice president for retirement security. Remo was most recently director of federal and state legislative affairs at the American Retirement Association, and he was previously a legislative aide to Sen. Benjamin Cardin (D-Md.).

Beth Friedrich has joined the public affairs team at Moore & Van Allen as a director in the firm’s Raleigh, N.C., office. Friedrich was most recently a senior policy advisor and deputy general counsel to the North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore (R), and she previously worked with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and as senior manager of economic development for the City of Raleigh.

Avery Monsees is joining Narrative Strategies as a director. She most recently worked as a senior advisor for public affairs at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). She previously served as press secretary for Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) and as a legislative aide for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.


Narrative is also adding Jack Turman, most recently a Capitol Hill producer and reporter at CBS News, as strategic communications manager; Evelyn Humphrey, most recently a scheduler for Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) as operations manager; and Ben Bissen and Valeria Fernandez as strategic communications associates.

The Alpine Group promoted Keenan Austin Reed from executive vice president to principal. Austin Reed spent more than a decade on Capitol Hill before she joined the Alpine Group in 2021, and she is the chair and co-founder of the Black Women’s Congressional Alliance (BWCA).

Jon Dickinson joined Micron as vice president for global government and public affairs. He was previously global head of government relations at Flex and HP.

Jessica Lawrence-Vaca joins the renewable energy company Array Technologies as senior vice president of policy and external affairs. She most recently worked as the vice president of government affairs at SOLV Energy and currently serves as an alternate to the board of directors for the Solar Energy Industry Association.
