Lobbying World: SEC policy director joins Mindset

Heather Slavkin Corzo, most recently a policy director at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is joining Mindset as a principal. She was previously director of capital markets policy at the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), head of U.S. policy at the Principles for Responsible Investment and a senior fellow at Americans for Financial Reform.

Keith Stern is joining Cornerstone Government Affairs as a principal. Stern spent nearly three decades on Capitol Hill including stints as a senior adviser to Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and director of floor operations for then-Democratic Leader and Speaker Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Pinterest tapped Jasmine Vasquez as head of U.S. public policy. She was most recently YouTube’s manager of government affairs and public policy and previously worked for then-Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.).

Bollinger Shipyards has hired Andrew Hinkebein as director of government affairs. Most recently a state director for Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Hinkebein previously worked as southern regional director for Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Viji Rangaswami is now the chief public affairs officer for Liberty Mutual. She was previously the insurance company’s head of federal affairs and the international public affairs officer and is a House Ways and Means and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace alum. 


Maddison Stone has joined the U.S. Travel Association as director of strategic communications. She previously was communications director for Rep. G.T. Thompson (R-Pa.) and is a Republican National Committee (RNC) alum.

Charlotte Pineda has joined the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons as vice president of health policy and advocacy. Pineda was previously a health policy director for Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.).

Liz Hempowicz is joining American Oversight as deputy executive director. She was most recently vice president of policy and government affairs at the Project on Government Oversight (POGO).
