Conservative media figures celebrate Megyn Kelly’s departure from Fox

Conservative media figures are taking to Twitter to celebrate Megyn Kelly’s pending move from Fox News ti NBC News.

{mosads}Kelly, 46, has been targeted by right-wing figures since early in the presidential campaign, when she had a confrontation with Donald Trump during the first GOP primary debate in August 2015.

Trump took umbrage to a question from Kelly about his past comments about women, and later told CNN’s Don Lemon that Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever” during the debate. Kelly has not responded to Trump’s repeated attacks on Twitter, which lasted for months before a truce in May.

Since that debate, however, conservative hosts and writers — along with online sites like Breitbart and the Drudge Report — have mocked the attorney-turned-cable-news star, often characterizing her as self-absorbed and referring to her as “ME-gyn” or “Me-Again.”

Kelly’s contract with Fox News expires in July.

It is not known if she will continue to host her program, “The Kelly File,” before moving across the street to NBC News.
