Former ABC, NBC, ESPN anchor Josh Elliott out at CBS

Well-traveled network news anchor Josh Elliott will be looking for another home after being abruptly fired by CBS News.

The former ABC, NBC and ESPN anchor’s last day at the Tiffany Network was Friday, several sources confirm.

“CBS News and Josh Elliott are parting ways. Josh will no longer be reporting for CBS News,” the network said in a statement. “We are grateful for his contributions over the last year, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

{mosads}Elliott joined the digital arm of CBS News — CBSN — last year as lead daytime anchor. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Elliott met with CBS News President David Rhodes Monday morning and was told he was fired. The reason behind the termination is unclear.

Elliott has now worked at three of the four major broadcast networks, peaking as a co-host of “Good Morning America” on ABC from 2011 to 2014. The 45-year-old abruptly left for NBC after contract talks broke down with ABC.

After just 18 months with NBC working mostly in the sports division, Elliott and the network parted ways in December of 2015.

A few months later, Elliott would sign with CBSN.

The University of California, Santa Barbara grad started out his national TV career at ESPN, working there in various roles from 2004 to 2011.

Elliott still had more than one year remaining on his CBS contract.
