Fox’s Tucker Carlson to interview Trump on Wednesday in Detroit
Tucker Carlson of Fox News will interview President Trump on Wednesday at 9 p.m., according to the news network.
The interview, which will take place from Detroit, will mark the first time Carlson has interviewed Trump since the presidential election. Trump will be in Michigan to meet with auto executives and workers.
The conversation “will cover a wide range of topics including the latest on the new healthcare bill,” Fox News said.
{mosads}Carlson has been on a ratings tear since taking over for the departed Megyn Kelly, who moved to NBC, in January.
In February, Carlson was up 31 percent in total viewers compared to Kelly’s performance as host of “The Kelly File” in February 2016. He had an average of 3.28 million viewers last month and is up 55 percent in the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic, with 695,000 viewers.
Trump has sat down for interviews with Fox News three other times since taking office. The president talked to Sean Hannity on Jan. 26, Bill O’Reilly on Super Bowl Sunday and “Fox & Friends” hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade on Feb. 28.
The president’s interview with Carlson will compete with a CNN town hall with Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.
That Wednesday evening event, to be hosted by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer and chief political correspondent Dana Bash, will focus on new legislation introduced by Republicans last week to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
