Ex-Obama spox: Trump staff believes he’s ‘too stupid to figure out that Infowars is garbage’
Tommy Vietor, a former spokesman for the National Security Council and for former President Obama, was asked by Buzzfeed if he and other aides “jockeyed to get links from liberal sites in front of [Obama]” while in office.
“President Obama is an adult who can independently vet information so we treated him accordingly,” said Vietor. “President Trump’s staff apparently believes that he’s too stupid to figure out that Infowars is garbage.”

Earlier this year, Infowars twice claimed that it had been approved for White House press credentials, but it appears the conspiracy-driven website, founded by Alex Jones, received only a temporary, one-day pass, which is relatively easy to obtain.
Vietor, 36, currently co-hosts the podcast “Pod Save America” with former Obama speechwriters Jon Favreau and Jon Lovett and former Obama strategy and communications adviser Dan Pfeiffer. {mosads}
The commentary comes as reports via unnamed sources have surfaced at various times that aides were maneuvering to get only favorable news in front of President Trump.
An Aug. 9 Vice News report based on anonymous sources said the president received only positive news twice a day prepared in “special folder” containing 20-25 pages.
