MSNBC’s Katy Tur announces pregnancy live on the air

MSNBC host Katy Tur on Thursday afternoon announced her pregnancy on the air, showing a clip of the baby’s sonogram.

“That will do it for me this hour,” she said at the end of her show on MSNBC. “Except I won’t, because I have a little bit of other news to show you.”

{mosads}”A lot of you eagle-eyed folks out there have noticed so, here it is: roll the tape,” Tur continued as a video clip of the sonogram played.

“I have a baby in my belly, officially,” she said. “I’m tired of the tweets asking so I am going to announce it. That is my little guy. He’s due in April.”

Tur, who is 35 years old, has two stepchildren. This will be her first child with CBS correspondent Tony Dokoupil, whom she married last year.

“Oh, now I’m gonna cry,” Tur said after she made the announcement, tearing up. She passed the hour off to MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt, saying, “Kasie, take it away before I start crying.”

“Can I be honorary Aunt Kasie please?” Hunt asked. “I’m so excited for you.”

She congratulated Tur, who called her “Aunt Kasie number one.”

Tur gained national attention during President Trump’s campaign in 2016, when Trump called her out by name multiple times during tirades against the media.

Tur last year published a book about her time covering the Trump campaign called “Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History.”
