NewsNation to publish documentary on Clinton presidency

NewsNation is planning to air a documentary focusing on Former President Clinton’s time in the White House.

“Clinton: Portrait of a Presidency,” an original documentary produced by NewsNation Films, is slated to air on the cable channel at 8 p.m. EDT on Nov. 3.

The film is narrated by actor Blair Underwood, spans two hours and examines “an unprecedented time of peace and prosperity in America under the leadership of President William Jefferson Clinton,” the network said.

The film will feature key events that took place during Clinton’s presidency in the 1990s, telling a story “of economic renewal, compromise, peace, and human frailty,” it added.

“During the Clinton era, the federal government achieved the highest budget surplus in its history and American families thrived in a booming economy,” the network noted, saying Clinton left office with the American public giving him the highest approval rating in history, despite a scandal that rocked his presidency.

The film will feature appearances and commentary from key Clinton aides like James Carville, a political commentator and chief strategist for Clinton’s ’92 presidential campaign who remains a regular on cable news today, and former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who was co-chair of Clinton’s reelection bid and former head of the Democratic National Committee.

NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
