Rep.-elect Frank Mrvan (D-Ind.-01)
Date of birth: April 16, 1969
Residence: Highland, Ind.
Occupation: township trustee
Education: B.S., Ball State University

Frank Mrvan won the seat for Indiana’s 1st Congressional District, beating Republican Mark Leyva and Libertarian Edward Michael Strauss.
Mrvan is not the first member of his family to be named “Frank Mrvan,” nor is he the first to be involved in politics. His father, Frank Mrvan Jr., was first elected to Indiana’s state Senate in 1978.
Before being elected to Congress in November, the younger Mrvan served as North Township trustee.
He was endorsed by the Steelworkers Union, the American Federation of Teachers Indiana, as well as the congressman he is replacing, Rep. Pete Visclosky (D).
He ran his campaign on growing the economy of Indiana and advocating for the health of Hoosiers. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Mrvan launched a free mental health wellness hotline to address rising stress and anxiety.
