Nationals-Mets season opener postponed due to COVID-19 concerns

After a Washington Nationals player tested positive for COVID-19, the MLB postponed the Nationals-Mets season opener for Thursday night, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo announced on Wednesday that a player has tested positive for the virus, which led to four of his teammates and a staff member to quarantine after contact tracing.

“We’re still in the process of finding out exactly what their status is,” Rizzo said about the teammates who were in close contact with the player who tested positive for the virus. “They’re certainly out for tomorrow’s game.”

The Nationals found out of the positive test on Monday while still in Florida for spring training.
