Webb: When to fight

In my last article I wrote when not to surrender. Now it’s time to fight. 

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s latest attempt to stay relevant by stating that her presidential election was stolen and that any election can be stolen is proof that the resistance, while futile, is committed. Of course, only elections of Democrats can be stolen. Another example would be Stacey Abrams who lost the Georgia gubernatorial race to Brian Kemp but has not given up the fight. 

{mosads}There has been an ongoing coup in America from the left and through various examples in the past 100 years or so. In the early 1900s, the communists help launch the union movement. In the Reagan years, some Democrats worked with Soviet Union officials as we later discovered in declassified papers to affect the American presidential elections. 

In this recent environment, we see the leftists, globalists and the socialists working together openly to deconstruct our electoral system and to push any opportunity to destroy our faith in it. In fact, it has been the Democrats who have helped the Russians achieve their goal of interfering in the American elections system. 

This is why, in spite of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report finding there was no coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, they must continue their onslaught against President Trump and Republicans. This is really an onslaught against the American people. In the end, we will pay the price for their success, which precedes failure if they were allowed to enact their policies. 

How to peacefully end a coup is a good way to describe what is happening in Washington, D.C. now. In the coming months, especially through the presidential election cycle, we’ll see the transition into the next phase. 

There were a number of things that the special counsel conspicuously avoided, such as its silence about the Christopher Steele opposition report paid for by the Clinton campaign through its law firm. 

Mueller spent a lot of investigative resources on the Donald Trump Jr. meeting with a Russian lawyer and in the same manner he should have devoted resources and legal analysis to the foreign influences in the Steele Dossier, too. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has stated he will investigate the Steele Dossier in the Senate. The Democrats, who are in reality playing defense while appearing to be on offense, are focused on Trump. 

{mossecondads}Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) is the leader in the House and it seems as if he doesn’t know when to or care to accept the comprehensive Mueller report. 

With all of this and more to come, it’s time for the Trump administration and Republicans to come together in spite of differences and fight. This fight is bigger than the individual and occasional differences and more about America moving forward in building on current successes. 

We have seen an economy outgrow the projections and excepted norms in the Obama years. We are better equipped to handle what may come in the form of a recession or occasional pull backs in the economy. We are better positioned to negotiate a more equitable playing field in trade negotiations with China and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement which will replace the North American Free Trade Agreement. 

Our foreign policy doctrine has evolved from stagnation to one that demands action by those we are involved with around the world rather than discussion and capitulation to other’s needs. Peace through strength is not just an idea to be written on paper but something to be practiced and adapted from situation to situation. For example, we have positioned ourselves with the breakdown of Venezuela to help if needed, take action where we are demanded and support neighbors who have to deal with the immediate affects without unnecessarily sacrificing American resources. 

In the Middle East, we will no longer tolerate Iran’s hegemonic behavior and that message is being sent as we deploy a carrier strike group to defend our interests and the interests of our allies. 

Domestically, there is a difficult fight at our southern border, but dealing with illegal immigration is important to not only our physical security but also economic security. Ask many Americans ,especially at the lower rungs of the economic ladder, how labor displacement and wage suppression affect them. Those pushing policies that are in effect open borders do not care. The agenda trumps all. 

The president has been leading and fighting on his own with a small cadre in the executive branch. They have been effective and can be more so with the Republican Party’s help and national coordination. There will always be differences within the ranks. That is normal and at times healthy. There is also more in common than differences. Surrender to the Democrats is not an option. 

When to fight? Now!
