Jobless Americans paying big price for others’ crimes

How many more weeks will we be fed the rhetoric that it is going to happen — “just hold on”? Also, what do we tell the people who depend on us to survive — our families, our children, landlords, mortgage companies, power companies, gas companies and grocery stores? How many people will wind up in prison because they felt they had no other way to get food, or money to pay their bills? How many people will die by their own hands or others’ because the Senate took its time, because they hear the word emergency but are clueless as to the definition and to what it takes to execute an emergency plan.

{mosads}How will Congress get back what is lost to these people, to me, to the American People who are trying so hard to make it from one day to the next? When houses are lost to the mortgage companies and banks, and apartments lost to eviction, how will the government get all that back to us, because they have failed us, once again? This is not our fault; again, we are not the ones who caused this problem, but we are the ones who are asked to carry the burdens and live with the consequences.

The question is, What are you going to do to help us? Will you sit there in your chair at your desk and thank your God that you are not one of us, or will you get up and do something to help us before our blood is also on your hands?

We want to know, we need to know, we demand that you tell us where you stand and what you will commit to doing for us.

GOP outlook bleak, but Obama not helping self

As an independent whose tendencies are more conservative than liberal, it pains me to say it but the wisdom (or lack of same) shown by the Republican Party is not likely to win the 2012 election.

Right now and for the near future, our country is and will be locked in what is probably the nastiest economic situation most of us have ever seen. Mitt Romney, who ran for the presidency in 2008, is an economic genius but has been, and probably will be, overlooked as a viable candidate because he is a Mormon.
Rather than run this well-respected individual, the Republican Party will choose to back Mike Huckabee in order to gain the Bible Belt vote. If Huckabee were to win the 2012 election, this would leave America in bad shape for another four years, if not longer.

I doubt Huckabee would win the 2012 presidential election. He certainly appears to enjoy being the center of attention and playing to the Bible Belt constituency, but he has no real economic background and certainly nothing to compare to Romney.

Without a doubt, the Republican Party will shoot themselves in the foot again and back Huckabee. The current fragmented leadership (if you could call it leadership) of the Republican Party is a scattered band of wannabe leaders in considerable disarray. Fear of religious bigotry will keep them from running the one man who could help our country and, unless I miss my guess, cost them the election in 2012.

The one thing they have going for them is the fact that, to date, President Barack Obama has exhibited a total lack of economic sense, and this will hurt the Democratic Party in a very big way. Obama has focused on anything and everything but helping to create the jobs that are so badly needed in our country because he does not seem to have a clue what to do. He knows how to play politics well but is skilled at little else. His selections for a Cabinet and advisers are based more on a good-old-boy, control-and-support scheme than on common sense or ability, and they are certainly hurting the country. My fear is that 2012 will be just one more election in which America is left with a choice of the lesser of two evils, and we have lived with the results of such a choice for the last 25 years!
