•EDUCATION: President Bush nominated Sara Tucker to be under secretary.
•ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY: William Wehrum, Jr., is the president’s choice to be assistant administrator.
•EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION (EEOC): The president named  Naomi Earp chairman.
•HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES: Daniel Meron is set to take over as general counsel via a recess appointment.
•HOMELAND SECURITY: The president nominated Tracy Henke to be executive director of the Office of State and Local Government Coordination and Preparedness
•INTERIOR: Mary Bomar is President Bush’s nominee to be director of the National Parks Service.
The president nominated David Bernhardt to be solicitor.
President Bush nominated Mark Myers to be director of the U.S. Geological Survey.
•LABOR: President Bush nominated Richard Stickler to be assistant secretary for mine safety and health.
•JUSTICE: The president has named Montana U.S. Attorney William Mercer acting associate attorney general and nominated him to take the position on a permanent basis.
•LABOR: President Bush announced that he planned to install Paul DeCap as administrator of the Wage and Hour Division via a recess appointment.
•STATE: President Bush nominated Charles Glazer to be ambassador to El Salvador.
•TRANSPORTATION: President Bush announced that he would nominate Mary Peters to be secretary.
•TREASURY: President Bush plans to name Michael Sullivan acting director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Robert Steel is set to be nominated as under secretary for domestic finance.
•U.S. AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: President Bush has named James Kunder as acting deputy administrator.
•VETERANS AFFAIRS: Robert Howard is the president’s nominee to be assistant secretary for information and technology.
•WHITE HOUSE: President Bush named Jay Hein to be director of the Office of the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
James O’Gara is President Bush’s choice to become deputy director for supply reduction in the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
