The right’s war against Mueller will fail

The war against Robert Mueller and his special counsel team, led by certain Republican pro-Trump players on the right, must be secretly cheered by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the successors to the KGB operating under his command who are waging an aggressive war against America.

There is no doubt across the spectrum of American intelligence, counterintelligence and law enforcement agencies that Russia under Putin has been aggressively attacking America using weapons of cyberwar, infowar and espionage.

{mosads}This war against America began before the 2016 elections, continued throughout the campaign with the purpose of electing Donald Trump as president and continues today with the purpose of dividing Americans against each other and destroying the credibility of core American institutions.

Robert Mueller and his special counsel team are investigating the techniques and methods that Russia is employing to wage this war against America and are investigating whether or not there was collusion involving any Americans.

They are trying to determine whether Russia or Russian allies were using financial weapons or other tactics involving influence or blackmail to pursue their war against America.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that General H.R. McMaster, President Trump’s national security advisor, said this week that Russia is pioneering “new generation warfare” involving campaigns of “subversion and disinformation and propaganda” to pit Americans against each other and destabilize our democracy.

It is no coincidence that Trump’s previous national security advisor, Michael Flynn, has copped a plea to lying to the FBI and is now providing evidence to investigators.

It is a mystery why President Trump remains unwilling to unequivocally state that this Russian attack against America has happened, continues to happen and must be condemned and countered.

It is an outrage that a faction of Republicans, who do not speak for a majority of Republicans in Congress, wage an aggressive attack against Mueller while he investigates the aggressive Russian attack against America.

One would hope that all Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives and Americans would want to know exactly what the Russians do in their attacks against America and whether or not any Americans are implicated. Most Americans and legislators from both parties do want to know the truth. They support actions such as sanctions against Russia in response.

The faction of the GOP that now wages  political war against Mueller is the exception, and one way or the other, they are destined to lose their war against Mueller.

Regarding their charge that Mueller, his special counsel team or the FBI are biased against Trump, let’s be crystal clear about the key point:

As soon as Mueller learned of any bias against Trump by anyone associated with the investigation, the biased party was removed from the investigation in a clear and decisive demonstration of integrity, ethics and professionalism that should be universally applauded.

Regarding their charge that former FBI Director James Comey or anyone at the FBI was biased in favor of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 campaign, this bogus accusation is laughable and self-evidently false. While individuals at the FBI had opinions, which is their right as Americans, Comey’s actions during the 2016 campaign worked decidedly against Clinton and contributed to her defeat.

Comey should never have opined at all about Clinton’s actions once he decided that no case was warranted under the law. By being critical of Clinton, Comey interfered in the election in ways that helped Trump and hurt Clinton.

By reopening the investigation days before the election, without any evidence to justify that decision, Comey helped Trump and hurt Clinton. By publicly announcing on the eve of the election that the investigation that should not have been reopened was closed, Comey again helped Trump and hurt Clinton.

In the coming hours, days, weeks or months there will be more indictments resulting from the Russia investigation, more plea bargains, more individuals who will turn state’s evidence, more revelations, more disclosures and more explosive news stories.

It is possible there have already been more plea bargains or indictments that are now sealed and will be disclosed in due course.

Those who wage war against Mueller will not prevent these events from happening.  They do not want to appear to be covering up crimes or defending those who may be guilty of them.

Mueller and his team will clear the innocent and pursue the guilty. America deserves no less. Americans will not stand for less.  The war against Muller will fail.
