Watch: Trump and Zelensky’s remarks ahead of meeting
Former President Trump met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in New York City on Friday morning, just two days after attacking him at a campaign rally.
Republicans have ramped up criticism of Zelensky this week after he toured a Pennsylvania weapons factory with Democrats and criticized Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), in a magazine interview.
However, Trump announced on Thursday that he would meet with the Ukrainian president, and in remarks ahead of their meeting on Friday the GOP nominee praised Zelensky, and said they had a great relationship.
