OurMine hacks Wikipedia co-founder

OurMine, the hacking crew and cyber-protections racket that has hacked social media accounts of major tech industry players, claimed a new victim on Saturday: Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia.

{mosads}Around noon on Saturday, OurMine posted a death notice to Wales’s Twitter account: “RIP Jimmy Wales 1966 — 2016 #RIPJimmyWales.” The following message contained a link to OurMine’s website with the added taunt: “I confirm that Wikipedia is all likes // OurMine Team is the true.”

The site SoftPedia has screenshots of the hacked messages.

OurMine hacks social media accounts and uses them to advertise its social media security services.

Other OurMine victims have included current and former CEOS from Facebook, Twitter, Google, Niantic, Yahoo, Medium and Oculus Rift. Before taking aim at the Silicon Valley elite, OurMine also struck Lana Del Ray, Drake, Kylie Jenner and other celebrities.

Wales currently heads Wikia, a platform for users starting their own Wikis.
