House Intelligence votes to give all members access to classified Russian hacking report

The House Intelligence Committee voted Tuesday to allow all members of the House to see the classified Russian hacking report.  

House members will receive a briefing from the heads of the FBI, CIA, NSA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Friday. 

{mosads}The classified report, presented last week to President-elect Donald Trump and President Obama, contains the full package of evidence that the intelligence agencies say connects Russia to breaches at the Democratic National Committee and other political targets.

Until reading the classified report, Trump expressed skepticism about Russia’s role in the attacks. But he said at a press conference Wednesday that, “As far as hacking, I think it was Russia.”

A public report released last week contains the same conclusions as the classified report, without the evidence.

A bipartisan Senate bill announced Tuesday would codify sanctions Obama made by executive order and add sanctions against investments in Russian energy concerns and business with Russian intelligence agencies or hacking related personnel.

Members of the House are said to be forming their own version of such a measure.
