US drone strike kills three in Yemen
Three alleged fighters with al Qaeda’s Yemeni cell were killed after an American drone strike in the country on Wednesday.
The attack took place in the Hadramawt province in southeast Yemen, where leaders with the Yemeni faction, known as al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, have set up their base of operations in the country.
A vehicle carrying the three terror suspects was traveling through the province when it was hit by the U.S. airstrike, according to witnesses in the country.
Terror cells in Yemen, along with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia, have been frequent targets of U.S. armed drone strikes.
Al Qaeda’s Yemeni cell is considered by U.S. military and intelligence officials as the most dangerous and best funded faction within the terrorist organization.
