NCIS agent pleads guilty in bribery case
An NCIS agent made first guilty plea Tuesday in a Navy bribery case involving a Malaysian contractor that has threatened to ensnare high-ranking Navy officials.
{mosads}John Beliveau II, a Naval Criminal Investigative Service agent, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
“I’m here to do the right thing, the honorable thing,” Beliveau said outside the courtroom.
Beliveau is accused of leaking information on NCIS investigations to Navy contractor Leonard Francis, known as “Fat Leonard,” who gave him gifts of cash, prostitutes and travel.
