GOP Sen. Corker: Obama did ‘very good job’ in AIPAC address
Republican Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.), in a rare move Sunday, said President Obama did a “very good job” in his speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
In a statement, Corker, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Obama laid out a “clear” vision for the Middle East peace process along with reaffirming the nation’s commitment to Israel.
{mosads}”Although I have strong policy disagreements with the president on many issues, I think he did a very good job today at the AIPAC conference in laying out a good foundation for a path forward in the Middle East peace process and halting the Iranian nuclear threat,” Corker.
“I agree with his strong commitment to our alliance with Israel, the right for Israel to defend itself, continuation of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, and our shared goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear capability.
“I thought he was clear and unambiguous and I thank him for that,” Corker said.
