Report: Khorasan bomb-maker believed dead

A U.S. Predator drone strike is believed to have killed French bomb-maker David Drugeon, a member of the Khorasan terror group.

{mosads}The drone struck a vehicle in Syria’s Idlib province that was believed to be carrying Drugeon, Fox News reported. The Pentagon has not confirmed whether Drugeon was killed.

The U.S. conducted airstrikes against Drugeon and other Khorasan group targets in northern Syria on Wednesday, the second time it has done so.

The U.S. also targeted the group with 47 Tomahawk missiles fired from the Persian Gulf, when it first hit Syria with airstrikes on Sept. 22.

After those strikes, the U.S. declined to state whether any Khorasan group members were killed.

Drugeon converted to Islam when he was 14, traveled to Egypt to learn Arabic in 2010 and went to Pakistan to join al Qaeda, according to Fox News.

The Khorasan group is believed to be a group of elite al Qaeda operatives that originated in the tribal areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan but has established a cell in Syria to recruit Westerners.

French intelligence sources believe Drugeon developed a method to dip clothes in explosives that could pass through airport security undetected, according to Fox News.
