Report: Hagel to order nuclear force overhaul
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is ordering a management overhaul of the U.S. nuclear force, vowing to spend billions to fix the management of the world’s most deadly weapons, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
{mosads}Two senior defense officials, speaking on condition of anonymity before Hagel’s Friday announcement, told the news wire that the changes are aimed at fixing weak leadership.
Hagel concluded that problems in the nation’s nuclear forces are rooted in a lack of investment, inattention by high-level leaders and sagging morale.
