Levin ‘troubled’ by Clapper’s NSA testimony
The testimony prompted criticism from lawmakers and led to
some calls for his resignation over the false testimony.
{mosads}Levin said he wouldn’t go that far but suggested that the
only way Clapper could be held accountable was if President Obama fired him.
“I’m troubled by that testimony, obviously,” Levin said at a
breakfast roundtable hosted by The Christian Science Monitor.
“How do you hold him accountable? I guess the only way to do
that would be for the president to, somehow or other, fire him,” Levin added. “I
think he’s made it clear that he regrets saying what he said. I don’t want to
call on the president to fire him, although I’m troubled by this.”
