GAO to review overclassification problems

Hunter said that he requested
the review after the recent leaks of the NSA’s top-secret documents detailing
phone and Internet surveillance programs.

{mosads}The documents were disclosed by Edward Snowden, a former CIA
official and NSA contractor who is now holed up in a Moscow airport.

“With access to
classified information contingent on the issuance of security clearances,
overclassification stands to dangerously expand access to material that should
ordinarily be limited,” Hunter wrote to the GAO.
