McKeon: Manning’s sentence a ‘dangerous conclusion’
Manning could be eligible for parole in a decade.
{mosads}McKeon said that Manning’s sentence created a false
distinction between his punishment and the life sentences given to John Walker
and Robert Hanssen, who were both convicted on espionage charges for spying for Russia and the Soviet Union.
“Bradley Manning betrayed his country, his obligations
as a soldier, and the trust of all Americans,” McKeon said. “He put the lives
of our troops and our allies in danger.”
