Two U.S. soldiers were killed in Afghanistan and a third was wounded in action on Wednesday evening during a raid against a branch of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), officials announced.
The service members were conducting an operation with Afghan National Defense and Security Forces against ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) insurgents in Nangarhar Province, located in the eastern region of Afghanistan, according to a U.S. Forces-Afghanistan spokesman.
