Conway: Trump isn’t going to ‘broadcast’ plans for N. Korea

White House aide Kellyanne Conway on Sunday said President Trump doesn’t plan to share his strategy on North Korea.

“The president is not going to broadcast to North Korea or anyone else ahead of time what the United States will do next,” she said during an interview on Fox News, while on other Sunday talk shows the administration’s likely next steps were under fierce debate by officials and lawmakers.

“He has called that out as a failing of American national security and foreign policy in the past administration at the very least,” she continued. “He said, ‘Why are we telling everybody what we’re about to do when we do it?'”

{mosads}Conway also said Trump has made clear all options are on all the table with respect to North Korea.

She added the president plans to continue to consult with his generals and team on the situation.

Her comments come after North Korea said Sunday it successfully tested a miniaturized hydrogen bomb capable of fitting on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

State television said the test, ordered by leader Kim Jong Un, was a “perfect success” and a “meaningful” step forward.

Trump last month escalated his rhetoric on North Korea, warning of “fire and fury” if the country continues to threaten the U.S.

On Sunday, Trump said the words and actions of North Korea “continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States.”

He also went after China, saying North Korea has become a “great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success.”

Trump is meeting Sunday with administration officials and military leaders to talk about North Korea. He warned the U.S. could stop all trade with countries doing business with North Korea in the wake of Pyongyang’s latest test.

When asked on Sunday if the U.S. would attack North Korea, Trump said, “We’ll see.”
